Signed on the 10th of October 1874, the Deed of Cession saw the formal Annexation of the Kingdom of Fiji by Great Britain. It was signed by 13 Fijian chiefs and Hercules Robinson on behalf of the British Crown. Copies of the Deed of Cession were prepared and signed in both English and Fijian, with the translation being done by David Wilkinson.
