A kiakovo (spurred club) bearing Tongan decorative carvings. Perhaps the commonest form of Fijian club, this kiakavo is covered in Tongan relief carvings, including 3 human figures. The appearance of Tongan carving on Fijian weapons is not unusual, clubs often being shaped by one craftsman but decorated by another. Also, during the 1800s many Fijians and Tongans adopted each other’s weapons.
