Sil and Lorha

The sil is a simple kitchen tool. It is basically a flat piece of stone upon which a variety of cooking ingredients are crushed with a smaller handheld stone called the lorha. The sil and lorha were used to prepare almost any cooking ingredient, from crushing garlic and ginger to grinding lentils, as well as making all kinds of indian chutneys. Sil length: 42cm; Sil width 25cm; Lorha length: 17cm.
