Toe ring

From early times in India toe rings have been part of a married woman’s jewellery box after Sita threw her toe ring away when she was abducted, so that the lord Rama (her husband) could find her. In many different Indian cultures, the husband puts the toe rings on his wife’s second toe on both feet, during the wedding ceremony.
