Noke (kato ni ika)

Worn at the waist, this basket was used to carry fish and other items whilst fishing. Only a small gap was left open at the centre of the basket, through which fish could be pushed through without risking them jumping out later. Woven from voivoi (pandanus) and with magimagi (coconut husk string) for closing and hanging.
