Wooden house posts

These two wooden house posts were made for a house named Yabeyaga, which was built in 1935 by the people of Sasa, Vanua Levu. The posts were carved by Uliasi Matia and Epeli Tulaga. Uliasi was the Mataisau (carpenter) of the Tui Macuata (Chief of Macuata). One post was put facing the sea at the end of the house, while the other was placed at the side of the house.
