Religion

Three of the world’s major religions came to Fiji during the Girmit period: Hinduism, Islam and Sikhism. While Sikhism maintains a small presence in Fiji, Hinduism and Islam have both become well established in the country with many temples and mosques. They generally coexist peacefully with the majority Christian religion, with people of all faiths celebrating each others’ festivals and holy days.
